State Certified Shovel Ready Sites

Hancock County has more than 566 total acres that are Certified Shovel Ready by the State of Indiana. The first site in the county was Mt. Comfort Air Park East which is home to University Loft Headquarters and Tsuda USA–and has approximately 100 acres remaining in the business park.

Friday, November 21, 2014, The Townsend Property became the fourth Certified Shovel Ready Site in Hancock County. The site has 80 acres of I-70 visibility with frontage on Hancock County Road 300 N approximately one mile east of Mt. Comfort Road.

The third site in Hancock County to receive State Certified Shovel Ready designation is Energy Park. On April 14, 2014, Mr. Bill Davis, Executive Director at the Office of Community and Rural Affairs made the presentation.  Mr. Davis stated “We recognize the potential of Energy Park and are excited to begin marketing it to those who can develop it as an even greater asset for Hancock County.”

In January 2014, Hancock County received its second State Certified Shovel Ready Site designation. Progress Park Phase II was awarded as a Silver Shovel Ready Site.
