GREENFIELD — Three business deals in the works could lead to up to 120 new jobs in Hancock County.
The Hancock Economic Development Council is pursuing agreements with three businesses that are looking to locate or expand in Hancock County. On Wednesday, city and county officials approved tax breaks for Indiana Automotive Fasteners, a company that makes car parts for a variety of vehicles including Toyota and FoamCraft, an Indianapolis-based foam manufacturer.
The county council also gave preliminary approval to tax deduction for County Materials Corp., which manufactures concrete and stone for landscape and construction projects.
HANCOCK COUNTY — An Indianapolis-based manufacturing company is eyeing Hancock County as the site for a new facility that would bring about two dozen jobs to the area, provided the county is willing to approve a tax break.
Foamcraft Inc., a 63-year-old foam fabricator with five facilities located across the state, is considering a 10-acre property in the 7200 block of West County Road 200N as the site of a new 60,000-square-foot facility.
HANCOCK COUNTY — For the past three decades, the Hancock Economic Development Council has served as one of the first stops for businesses interested in putting down roots in the county.
Though the organization often works behind the scenes — coordinating with local government officials and business leaders to find solutions that satisfy both parties’ needs — the council has netted countless deals that have led to the creation of thousands of jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars in development for Hancock County.
GREENFIELD, IN – Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. (NYSE: SWK) announced plans today to expand its operations here, creating up to 136 new jobs by 2018.
The New Britain, Connecticut-based company will invest $7.69 million to renovate and equip its 220,000 square-foot facility in Greenfield. With its growth, the company plans to begin producing DEWALT corded power tools in Indiana, including reciprocating saws, screw guns, hammer drills, one-half inch drills and small angle grinders. When fully operational, Stanley Black & Decker plans to produce 1.2 million power tools annually at its Greenfield facility.
Plainfield, IN – A $15,000 Duke Energy Foundation grant will fund tools for the Hancock County Economic Development Council to market the county to new businesses.
The grant will help launch a new website to attract businesses to Hancock County and help existing ones grow. Funds will support new website content, mapping, analytics and integration with mobile devices and social media.
Shirley, IN — Tech Castings LLC – a private IN-based foundry specializing in investment casting of vacuum-melt superalloy turbine engine components serving a worldwide commercial and military aerospace customer base – was recently awarded grants and tax credits by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC).
