First Quarter 2017 Update from HEDC

It was a busy first quarter for HEDC and a productive one for Hancock County.

“The year has started off with a large number of “requests for information,” according to HEDC director Nolan “Skip” Kuker. “We are working 13 very active projects, one of which is very close to being finished. Hancock County continues to be the focus of interest for development and recent Census data shows Hancock County as the 3rd fastest growing county in the State of Indiana, with no signs of slowing.”

We’d like to congratulate HEDC Board Member Bill Petranoff from Duke Energy on his retirement and welcome Erin Schneider who is serving as an interim rep.

We’d also like to thank outgoing member Karen Deno of MIBOR, who served as vice president, and welcome newly appointed members Mark Dudley (MIBOR) and Mary Gibble (Hancock County Community Foundation).

We are grateful to all of our members for their service. See the full list here.

We held our 31st annual meeting at the end of January.

Our board recently went “On the Road” with a meeting at Greenfield-Central Educational Services Center.
