NineStar Connect’s Fiber Optic Service available to 100% of businesses and residences in McCordsville

Hancock Economic Development Council congratulates Nine Star Connect and the town of McCordsville on the company’s recent announcement that it is providing high-speed fiber optic broadband service to 100 percent of businesses and homes in McCordsville, Ind.

“Nine Star has been a tremendous asset in Hancock County,” says Nolan “Skip” Kuker of Hancock Economic Development Council. “They continue to grow their network of fiber internet as our community grows and the news that they have 100% service availability allows for even more economic development opportunities. We are glad to see McCordsville grow and have Nine Star as a partner in that growth.”

NineStar plans to plumb Hancock County’s ‘frontier’ for development

About two-thirds of Hancock County, just east of Indianapolis, lacks public water or sewer service. Wells and septic tanks suffice, but not for officials trying to attract large businesses or residential developments.

“This 38,000 acres essentially has been frontier,” said Michael Burrow, president and CEO of NineStar Connect, a Greenfield-based electric and fiber-optic communications cooperative.

But that’s about to change.
